MP welcomes investment in electric cars on visit to Alnwick dealership

MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan visited Tustain Motors in Alnwick to find out more about electric cars.

She discussed the benefits of dualling the A1, business rates and the future of the automotive industry with director Brian Baxter and managing director David Storey. She said: “It is so important to me to have regular meetings with local businesses to listen to their views and hear from them about any concerns they may have and their ideas for the future.”

“It was great to visit Tustain Motors and hear about how they plan to develop their business. It was especially good to learn more about the new fully-electric Vauxhall Corsa which launches in March.

“We now have more electric vehicle charging points in the UK than petrol stations with more planned, including in Northumberland.

“With companies investing more in battery technology, the range on vehicles is improving, which is vital for our rural communities.”
