Limited edition gin raising funds for HospiceCare to mark its 25th anniversary

Northumberland Spirit Company has produced a limited edition gin to raise funds for HospiceCare North Northumberland.

The limited edition of just 250 bottles, with a donation made for each bottle sold, has been produced to mark the hospice’s 25th anniversary.

The initial public response has already exceeded the expectations of the Northumberland Spirit Company.

Ian Woods, sales director, said: “We are aiming to raise well over £2,000 for the hospice so every bottle ordered edges closer to this target.

“This gin won’t be around for long so be quick and place your order to avoid disappointment. Help us make a huge difference to people’s lives in Northumberland.”

Presented in a black stoneware bottle with custom brass metal label on the front, the bottle looks very attractive and, Ian assures, “it tastes great too!”.

The gin offers soft hints of spice from the cardamom, coriander and black pepper followed by the beautiful floral tones of rosemary, lavender and rosehip.

It works well with a range of tonics and a ginger ale.

Emma Arthur, HospiceCare community fund-raiser, said: “Last year we spoke with the Northumberland Spirit Company, who produce the Alnwick Gin to ask if they would produce a 25th anniversary gin for HospiceCare.

“We thought this would be an excellent way of raising funds after seeing the company had created 250 bottles of a special edition gin for RAF Boulmer, which sold out within nine hours.

“There’s a lot of interest in gin just now across the UK and we felt a special edition bottle for HospiceCare would be a great way of commemorating our 25th anniversary, and also make a healthy profit too.

“We have reserved bottle numbers 1, 25 and 250 to be auctioned at our larger events this year, but are delighted to report that 40 bottles sold within hours of our launch.”

Last month, Northumberland Spirit Company opened new premises in the Blacksmith’s Hall at Rock with a new still unveiled by the Duchess of Northumberland.
