The fully funded business support programme provides support to small and medium enterprises across the North East which are looking to sustain and grow their business online and help them understand how embracing digital technology can transform their business - from marketing and communications, to SEO and social media.

Business Northumberland is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Advance Northumberland.

Until recently, all support and training has been delivered in person, but a plan for online training has now been developed.

The expert training, set up by Business Northumberland and delivered by Digital Allies, ensures local organisations have the opportunity to increase the visibility of their business online.

“The online training offers the same - if not a greater level - of support for all businesses during these uncertain times,” says Steven Parker, managing director at Digital Allies.

“We have been working with Business Northumberland since September 2019 to deliver training to all kinds of businesses,” he adds.

“From turfing businesses and motoring companies, to Office 365 firms, the training is vast and we have weekly sessions in place for the foreseeable future.

“It was great to see an online strategy put in place so quickly by Business Northumberland, and we are delighted to be able to continue the training sessions.”

A spokesperson for Business Northumberland added: “In light of the current situation and the impact it is having on businesses, I am so proud of the whole team working hard to ensure Business Northumberland can continue to offer digital support to SMEs across the North East, and to help them adapt to the new way of business.”

If you’re a local SME business based in Northumberland or the wider North East region, head over to the Business Northumberland website and register for a digital training course on everything from SEO and social media, to website and ecommerce.

Training sessions are available every week throughout May.
