North East favourite Greggs reveals stores will remain open throughout Lockdown 2

Greggs revealed on Monday, November 2 that it will remain open for customers to get their fix throughout the four-week national lockdown, which comes into force on Thursday, November 5.

Hide AdThe chain closed its doors to customers during the first lockdown back in March, with the majority of them remaining shut until mid June, when ‘non-essential’ retail was then permitted to reopen by the Government.
The decision will allow customers to takeaway their favourite treats from the stores, as well as using delivery and click and collect services.
A Greggs spokesperson said on Monday: "In accordance with the latest government guidelines, Greggs shops across the UK will remain open for takeaway, click and collect and delivery."

Hide AdIt’s good news for fans of the bakery chain, especially with the Festive Bake, an annual Christmas favourite from Greggs, due to be released this week.
At the time, a company spokesperson said: “The outlook for trading remains uncertain, with rising Covid-19 infection rates leading to increasing risks of supply chain interruption and further restrictions on customer activities out of the home.
