Morrisons in Amble delivers acts of kindness to care homes and Covid-19 heroes

It has included delivering free mince pies to local care homes and surprising Covid-19 heroes by gifting festive hampers.

Amble store community champion Marion McKenzie-Long has helped to coordinate the effort.

She said: “The care homes got mince pies for all the residents and staff, Rachel Cook received a gift for being one of our Covid heroes and Felton U14's football team got selection boxes.”

The Morrisons Acts of Community Kindness activity aims to help customers and communities feel festive this year after nearly half of adults reported that their well-being was being affected by the pandemic.

Rebecca Singleton, community director at Morrisons said: “Small acts of kindness go a very long way. They can make our world feel like a kinder, happier and more caring place. It’s the right thing to do in this difficult year.”
