Indian restaurant thanks community for its support as it marks five years in Northumberland village

Lal Khazana opened its doors in Shilbottle on March 16, 2016 and has proved a popular addition to the local community.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions it is unable to celebrate the occasion as it would have liked.

Manager Mohammed Hussain said: “Myself and the team at Lal Khazana would like to thank everybody for their warmth and continuous support since we opened five years ago.

"It's been an honour serving the community. The past year has been a tough challenge for everyone. As small businesses start to reopen we urge everyone to continue supporting local.’’

Lal Khazana was named best restaurant of the year (Northumberland) at the Chef TV Reality Show Awards in 2019.

It is currently operating a takeaway collection service only, every day except Tuesdays.

Lal Khazana plans to reopen on May 17 if restrictions are lifted. Bookings are now being taken.
