Harry Potter castle in Northumberland seeks trainee wizards among 130 seasonal job vacancies

Alnwick Castle is hoping to recruit 130 eager candidates to perform a range of exciting roles in 2021.

The tourist attraction, famous for starring as Hogwarts in two Harry Potter films, is searching for trainee wizards, historical interpreters and costumed tour guides.

Just as importantly there will be many more crucial operational vacancies, including retail and admin assistants, food and kitchen assistants, cleaners, admissions staff, and porters.

Susan Richardson, HR manager at Alnwick Castle, said: “We are getting ready to open our seasonal recruitment for next year and look forward to hiring the seasonal team.

"If you want to come and work at Alnwick Castle during the 2021 season, we are looking for enthusiastic, positive minded, team players, who can go that extra mile to help ensure our visitors have a great day out.

"We also look forward to welcoming back our returning staff, as they play a key part in the success of the programme.”

The castle will re-open on Friday, March 26 and prior to this date, all new staff will be trained and in place to ensure visitors have the best time ever. The castle will close on Sunday, October 24.

As usual there are many exciting activities for all the family planned at Alnwick Castle next year including magical Harry Potter-themed events, the fearsome Dragon Quest, broomstick training and a magnificent, new Lions of the North exhibition.
