Fashion store with branches in Alnwick and Berwick urges residents to shop local

Fashion retailer M&Co is asking Northumberland residents to love local in support of the British high street.

Thursday, 22nd October 2020, 7:00 am

The department store, which has branches in Alnwick and Berwick, wants to encourage shoppers to support the local town centre and turn to traders close to home before travelling further afield.

Andy McGeoch, chief executive, said: “Covid-19 means many people don’t feel comfortable travelling on public transport or visiting busy city centres which is good news for shops in local town centres. We hope to encourage shoppers, who feel comfortable visiting stores, to do so.

“Without the support from the local people in Alnwick and Berwick we wouldn’t be able to continue trading on the high street and appreciate every customer that has come through the doors during these difficult times.”
