Barber gives new lease of life to disused Alnwick garage

A disused garage in Alnwick has been converted into a new barber shop.

Paul Emery of Illicit Barbering has given a new lease of life to Willy Taylor’s old garage on New Row, Pottergate.

He has worked in the town for eight years with two spells at Alnwick Barbering Company sandwiched by a spell at Hotspur 1364.

“I have been trading three weeks now and business is great,” he said. “Having so much time off due to Covid-19 made me realise that I need to do it for myself now.”

He thanked local joiner Geoff Saunders and plumber Steve Pitcher of N&P Heating for their contribution, along with ABdesign and Origin Designed.

“I just want to showcase the talents of the local tradesmen, and thank other businesses in the town who have employed me,” said Paul. “Without them all I wouldn't be where I am today.”
