Mandy Aitman of M A Tailoring on Bow Alley is moving into children’s clothing.

She said: “I am trying a new line of kiddies clothes from premature baby to 11 years and also nappy cakes to try and claw back a little.

"Alnwick doesn’t have much choice in this area. I get a lot of parents with school age children looking for uniforms.

"I have sourced a couple of suppliers in Italy and America just to try something a little different and the clothes will be affordable and good quality.

"I will still be providing a full tailoring alteration and wedding service alongside this new line of clothing.”

Mandy is only in her second year of trading and admits she has been hit hard by the prolonged closures of the past 12 months.

"It’s been a long and hard winter, especially as my sewing machines are in the shop,” said Mandy.
