African theatre company Utopia Theatre is bringing the uplifting story of a puppet girl who is bursting with happiness to The Maltings in Berwick next week.

Promising to enchant children and adults in equal measure, Anna Hibiscus’ Song is a magical fusion of music, dance, puppetry and traditional African storytelling – based on the much-loved children’s book by Atinuke.

It is the story of a young Nigerian girl called Anna Hibiscus, who is so filled with happiness that she feels like she might float away. And the more she talks to her family about it, the more her happiness grows.

So, there is only one thing to do – and that’s to sing!
