He is bringing his stand-up show, Brexit, Pursued By A Bear, to the recently refurbished theatre on Friday, March 20.

It is part of a 39-date tour which follows successful stints at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre.

In 2019 alone, Matt ran the News Desk on Channel 4’s Alternative Election Night, was invited to chair the One Nation Conservative leadership hustings, interviewing Michael Gove, Matt Hancock, Jeremy Hunt and Dominic Raab, to host the People’s Vote rally featuring speeches from figures including Luciana Berger, Vince Cable, Michael Heseltine and Caroline Lucas and to debate Britain’s withdrawal from the EU with Tony Blair for the Institute Of Global Change.

In his Political Party podcast, which has amassed over 1 million downloads on Soundcloud, he has spoken to guests ranging from Nicola Sturgeon, former Change UK MPs Heidi Allen and Chuka Umunna, David Blunkett, Momentum’s Jon Lansman, George Osborne and Rory Stewart to name a few.

A former advisor to the Labour Party, Matt has hosted four series of Unspun, the topical political comedy chat show, on Dave.

He also presents Absolute Radio’s weekly Rock n Roll Football Show.

In the lead up to the 2017 General Election, Matt was a regular guest on the One Show, observing the best and most bizarre moments of the campaign.

He will also be performing at Hexham’s Queen’s Hall on March 6 and Newcastle’s Stand on April 7.
