The Maltings pantomime is back – oh yes it is! – and Snow White is the star attraction in this season’s line up. Tickets are on sale now for general release, as well as school-only performances available as the perfect festive reward after a very tricky year.

The Maltings is the primary professional cultural organisation for North Northumberland and the Eastern Scottish Borders, and working across three venues - The Maltings, The Granary Gallery and The Gymnasium Gallery – they programme live performances, cinema, exhibitions, workshops and community events all year round.

The team are passionate about ensuring quality of their performances, and of making sure that they’re accessible to everyone living, working and visiting Berwick and the surrounding area.

When it comes to audience engagement on stage, there’s nothing that beats panto – and ‘tis the season that you’ll be able to take your family to see Snow White on stage. Indeed, The Maltings are preparing a series of dazzling Dame outfits, a fabulous set, some magical special effects and one beautiful princess gown for their 2021 pantomime.

The annual festive production has become well-known across Northumberland and the Borders with their last pantomime, 2019’s Aladdin, selling more tickets than ever before, as well as a full week of schools only performances after the show’s opening weekend.

Some familiar faces are back this year, including the show-stopping Dame Euan Mciver, and the Maltings own Ross Graham, for another sparkling festive season to create magic on stage, with two hours of fun and laughter that guarantee a massive dose of Christmas spirit for the whole family. Full of slapstick humour, children and adults alike will love this live theatre spectacular, with a distinctively North East feel.

Ros Lamont, Executive Director at The Maltings, commented: “We were devastated when we had to postpone the pantomime last year as it has become a tradition for many local people and holiday makers to see The Maltings production. Our dedicated production team work hard on our pantomime for many months before the curtain is raised.

“Despite last year’s difficult turn of events, we are determined to put on the best show possible to ensure this holiday season is even more joyful than normal. Snow White is jam packed with festive charm, magical moments and side-splitting comedy.”
