THE Middlemoor Wind Farm Public Inquiry was held in November 2007, into plans for the biggest wind farm development proposed in England so far, near Alnwick in Northumberland.
The 18-turbine proposal, at South Charlton near Alnwick, was presented to a Planning Inspector at the Northumberland Hall.

The inquiry sat for 12 days, with objectors, council chiefs, agencies and developer npower renewables making their cases for and against the scheme.

To keep readers fully informed, the Northumberland Gazette set up this special section to bring readers the latest from the hearing, as it happened.

The articles which appear are the complete day-by-day accounts of all the evidence given.

The application is currently lodged with the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform - formerly the Department for Trade and Industry - and a decision is expected this year.
