Youths hit the beach for a bash

Beach Bash Bosh, Blyth Beach, Saturday, September 17, 11.30am to 4pm. Free entry.

THIS action-packed day has been organised by the Northumberland Youth Cabinet to raise money for Depaul, a youth homelessness charity.

There will be plenty of activities, including a bungee run and an inflatable assault course, and there will be music performances throughout the day covered by Koast Radio, with the Dave Stephenson Centre used for computer gaming.

The field next to the beach, with a marquee put up if it rains, will host the competitive events such as the sack race and egg and spoon race.

Although there is no entry charge, there will be a charge for activities through a system of tokens, with each token worth 50p. People can pay for as many tokens as they want at the door and use them to pay for the activities.

The organisers will also give away event programmes for a suggested donation of £1.

This will contain the music performance timetable, some of the events on offer, a map and information about the youth cabinet.

Help for Heroes bands will also be on sale for a suggested donation of £2.
