A Northumberland music teacher and experienced singing coach, who started offering a chance to explore old and long-forgotten songs in March, is embarking on her next theme – the Napoleonic Wars.
Margaret Watchorn started looking back at five different types of music through informal and relaxed workshops which are suitable for beginners right up to more advanced voices.
The next instalment of her series is entitled Waterloo: Songs from the Napoleonic Wars, so expect to be singing regimental ditties, songs of love and loss and ballads of bravery and bravado.
This is the fourth in the series, with the final session on July 4, which is called Ye Jacobites By Name, A Look At The 1715 Uprising.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 6, in the Parish Church Room, Embleton, from 10.30am to 1pm.
Refreshements will be available for anyone at the session.
Tickets are £10 per session.
