Youngsters from the Alnwick Playhouse Junior Youth Theatre group will be taking to the stage later this month, with the classic musical production of Fiddler on the Roof.
Director/drama practitioner Judy Tribe says the show is a challenging prospect for the children, aged from 10 to 13, but they are rising to it.
She added: “We have done quite a lot of fun, light-hearted shows so we felt that the children had the potential and deserved to do something with a bit more meat on its bones and with a little bit more punch.
“Fiddler on the Roof explores a lot of different issues and it brings out a more serious side of their acting. “But they are getting on really well and they are enjoying it.”
The show takes place on Tuesday, November 26, and Wednesday, November 27, at Alnwick Playhouse from 7pm. Tickets are £8, £7 conc, £6 child/student.
○ The Playhouse is hosting two community events over the next week.
