blithe Spirit, Warkworth Memorial Hall, Thursday, April 26 to Saturday, April 28. Tickets £6.
Seventy years after the original screening, Noel Coward’s play, ‘Blithe Spirit’ is about to enjoy yet another revival.
Warkworth Drama Group is the latest company to put on a production of the ever-popular comedy, which will be staged at Warworth Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday April 26th to Saturday April 28th.
The play is full of Coward’s typical waspish wit and scathing opbservations on marriage.
Despite being operational for nearly 40 years, Warkworth Drama Group has never tackled ‘Blithe Spirit’ before.
Producers Steph Wilkinson and Pru Heathcote understand why, with Pru saying: “Trying to show ghostly goings-on on stage has been tricky, but we think we’ve managed it.
“The play has plenty of funny moments as well as scary ones.”
Tickets for the performance cost £6 and are available from The Village Store, Warkworth, and N&F. Young, Amble. For more information, visit the Group’s website at www.warkworthdrama.org.uk.
