Potted Panto, Alnwick Playhouse, Thursday, February 24, 2pm. Tickets £11, £10 conc, £6 child/student.

Following a sell-out Edinburgh Fringe premiere and an Olivier-nominated Christmas West End run, Potted Panto is at the Playhouse next week.

CBBC presenters Dan and Jeff have seasoned, simmered and reduced the best bits of seven of the nation’s favourite pantomimes into one neat 80-minute package.

The show features condensed versions of Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, offering a bargain-busting performance to beat the post-Christmas chill.

Potted Panto follows on from the success of Dan and Jeff’s Potted Potter, which enjoyed six sell-out runs across four Edinburgh seasons, and Potted Pirates. The show is written by the pair together with director Richard Hurst, who was involved with the two previous Potted shows and has also worked on the BBC hit show Miranda.
