The dark winter nights will soon be lit up in spectacular fashion at a north Northumberland tourist attraction.
Later this month, the switch will be flicked on The Alnwick Garden’s second phase of its permanent lighting installation.
Sparkle Two will turn more of The Garden into a spectacle of light and colour.
The first phase was unveiled last year. Costing in excess of £100,000, the project was undertaken by UK lighting specialists, Marl, and saw the hornbeam tunnels fitted with a state-of-the-art lighting system, with a 60-colour lighting programme.
Sparkle Two was designed by Chris Thornton, the man behind the lights in Sloane Square in Chelsea, London. The lights will be unveiled by the Duchess of Northumberland in an exclusive event open to Friends, donors and sponsors of The Garden on Thursday, November 21, between 5pm and 7pm.
Following the switch on, Sparkle Two will run in the evenings from 4pm to 7pm from November 24, to January 5.
