Alnwick’s Bailiffgate Museum may be closed for a major refurbishment - but there is still plenty on offer for the community.
One of the initiatives currently running while the attraction is shut is an open documentary photo competition.
And those behind the challenge are keen to attract as many entries as possible, especially from younger snappers.
Thirty pictures will be chosen by a judging panel to represent the Shots From The Heart exhibition, which will launch when the new-look museum reopens in February.
Suitable images will be ones that capture the essence of Alnwick town centre and the people who live and work there.
There are two categories of entry, adult and U18s, and the closing date is Sunday, December 15.
Plenty of other activities are going on too, such as Museum Tots and poetry evenings, which have been relocated to St James Church Centre, Pottergate.
The next Tots event is Monday, December 9, while the next poetry session is Thursday, December 12.
Trustee Jane Mann said: “The building may be closed but we are still very much open for business and are happy to meet potential new volunteers who would like to be part of the all new museum in 2014.”
