Marie Fielding and Duncan Black, The Glendale Hall, Wooler, Thursday, May 12, 7.30pm.

THE guest artists at the next Glendale Accordion and Fiddle Club night will be a pair of musicians from Rumford, Falkirk, Marie Fielding and Duncan Black. All welcome.

The previous club night was also the club’s AGM which saw an excellent turnout to elect the following officials: President Margaret Dickson; chairman Jimmy Straughan; treasurer Caroline Cumming; secretary Sheila Smailes; assistant secretary Edith Dagg; compere and bookings Ron Smailes and committee member Ernie Gordon.

The meeting was followed by a performance from the Johnny Duncan Duo, of Dundee. Johnny played five row accordion accompanied by Graham Sherrit on drums.

The supporting musicians for the evening were Ann Brown, Leonard Brown, Neil Riddell and Scott Gillie on accordions, Willie Gillie and Ian Riddell on drums and pianist Netta Harvey. The fiddles were played by Ian Woods and Cheryl Forman.

At the end of the night compere Ron Smailes thanked Johnny and Graham for a most enjoyable night as well as the supporting players, Mr and Mrs Brodie for the buffet and bar and those who donated raffle prizes.
