Hotshots all set to dazzle at the Roots

A North East-based acoustic duo, who have appeared in numerous countries, will perform at the next instalment of monthly music session, Rothbury Roots.

The Hokum Hotshots play a variety of 30s, 40s and 50s country blues, west-coast swing, jazz and vaudeville.

They have been in the business for more than 30 years, both as a duo and as solo artists.

The Hokums have shared the stage with such greats as Mississippi Fred McDowell, Johnny Shines, Larry Johnson, Long John Baldry, Martin Simpson and many more.

They have played far and wide, from Dublin and Cork to the Netherlands and performed for both television and radio.

The duo will be supported by The Alpacazz.

The gig takes place at Rothbury’s Queen’s Head Hotel on Thursday, February 27.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
