A church is celebrating the centenary of its organ with a little high jinks.
St Michael and All Angels, in Ford, is hosting High Jinks on the Organ, a programme of music and song played by Michael Grave, director of music at Whickham Parish Church.
The evening will including songs by his wife Jean.
The church organ and choir stalls were commissioned by James, First Baron Joicey, in memory of his wife Marguerite, who died in 1911. They were completed by the summer of 1914.
The organ was built by the world-famous Harrison and Harrison.
The celebration takes place on Thursday, September 11, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £7, including light refreshments, from 01890 820296, Ford and Etal post offices or on the door.
