HE is described as one of the UK’s most staggering and influential acoustic guitarists.

And later this month, Chris Newman will perform in north Northumberland.

His new show features guitars, mandolins and bass in a warm and witty style well-suited to rural touring.

It will be an evening of boundary-crossing music, exploring genres from English, Scottish and American traditional to country, Latin, African, swing and modern jazz, interspersed with warm and witty anecdotes delivered in Newman’s trademark laid-back style.

Joining Newman in the new trio are Andy Watt and Keith Rae.
