An Americana music duo will be performing in Rothbury and Alnwick as part of their latest tour.
Hailing from Vermont, in the US, Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson, who make up Hungrytown, have been touring internationally for nearly 15 years.
As part of a four-month, 43-date tour of the US and the British Isles, Hungrytown will be performing in Rothbury and Alnwick to support their latest album, Further West, which made the top 10 on the American Folk DJ charts for two months in 2015, and at least 14 Best of 2015 lists.
The husband and wife duo will be on stage at Rothbury Roots’ next gig at the village’s Queen’s Head Hotel on Thursday, September 29, and will then go on to perform as the opening act when We Stela Flyers perform at the Ship Inn, Low Newton, on Saturday, October 1.
Lyricist Rebecca Hall is credited with compositions ‘that sound as timeless as any traditional songs’ while producer/multi-instrumentalist/husband Ken Anderson is lauded for his ‘remarkable affinity for instrumental embellishment’.
They released their first CD, Hungrytown, in 2008; Any Forgotten Thing in 2011; and Further West in 2015.
The Rothbury Roots gig opens at 8pm tickets £10, from 01669 620470.
