Tomorrow: Last Night of the Proms – A wonderful night of entertainment for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrating our musical heritage through the years with Northumberland County Youth Concert Band and Duchess’s Community High School Wind Band in joint performances playing pieces such as British Sea Songs, Rule Britannia and a Songs which Won The War Medley. 7.30pm. Tickets £7, £5 child/student, £20 family (two adults, two children).

Saturday, March 24: Pirates of the Curry Bean – The junior group of the Playhouse Youth Theatre present this swashbuckling musical adventure on the high seas. 2pm and 6pm. Tickets £8, £7 conc, £6 child/student.

Saturday, March 24: Northern Bites – Lewis Schaffer will be performing stand-up about his short visit to London, which turned out to last a little longer than he expected. 8pm. Tickets £8.50.

Wednesday, March 28 and Thursday, March 29: Grease – The pupils of Duchess’s Community High School perform the slick 50s-set musical. 7.30pm. £8, £6 conc.
