FLOWER fans will be given a sneak preview of an exclusive daffodil breed at a special event tomorrow.
The Alnwick Garden has teamed up with international bulb specialists, Peter Nyssen, to develop Alnwick Magic, which has been named after the north Northumberland tourist attraction.
The one-of-a-kind blooms are a unique mix of ivory-white petals with an amber-orange centre, intermixed with buttermilk white.
Just 700 of these distinctive daffodils will be produced this year. And tomorrow, it will be introduced to garden enthusiasts in the attraction’s Pavilion Room at 7pm.
On top of that, the Dutch grower behind the bulb, Arno Kroon, will deliver an exclusive talk on the development of the Alnwick Magic daffodil.
Guests will also have the chance to pre-order the very first editions of this special flower.
Alnwick Magic will be officially launched at the highly-anticipated Daffodil Festival, taking place at the Garden from Friday, April 6, to Sunday, April 15, allowing visitors to experience the rare daffodil in full bloom.
During the event, guests will also be invited to discover and purchase a wonderful and striking variety of new daffodil breeds as they are showcased for the first time over the Easter week.
Tomorrow’s Alnwick Magic talk and sneak preview event is free. To book a place, available on a first-come, first-served basis, call 01665 511350 (option 4).
