Organisations and volunteers are being encouraged to attend a meeting next week to discuss ideas for this year’s Amble Puffin Festival.
The event was launched last year and ran for two weeks, beginning in May.
The 2014 extravaganza will run for a shorter length of time, staged from May 26 to June 1.
It takes place at a time when the world-famous puffins and Arctic terns are nesting on Coquet Island.
A series of events and activities will be held in the town to celebrate.
To help with the organisation of the event, representatives of organisations in the area are being urged to come to a meeting on Monday, January 27, to discuss ideas.
The meeting takes place at the town’s Fourways 2, on Dilston Terrace, at 5pm.
Due to administrative efficiencies, Amble Action Group, which organised last year’s event with the support of a number of groups and organisations has been dissolved back into its founding organisation, Amble Town Council.
But all at the council are very keen to keep up the partnership work that was forged during the previous event.
