The Alnwick Garden is offering a range of dance and exercise-based classes in aid of a project supporting isolated older people in the community.
One of the courses available is Capoeira, which is a Brazilian martial art, and it is aimed at adults of all ages.
The sessions put emphasis on mobility and flexibility, with participants doing jumps, kicks, spins and simple acrobatics.
Capoeira is one of many dance and exercise-based courses at The Garden, with new dates starting this month.
Also on offer are salsacise (a lively dance class with Latin rhythms and steps), Qi Gong (a gentle form of Tai Chi for the whole body), pilates (emphasising mobility and flexibility) yoga (strength and stretching for all ages), Dance For Fun and men’s fitness (strengthening the body with a variety of techniques suitable for a variety of ages).
Classes in languages, art, cookery, craft, technology (iPads), music and unusual skills like beekeeping, reiki and burlesque are also available and currently taking bookings.
All the money raised by the courses is used by the Elderberries project, which supports elderly community members. To book, call 01665 511080.
