Bookworms are in for a treat later this month when Woodhorn holds the Northern Children’s Book Festival Gala Day.
The free family event is hosted by Northumberland libraries and takes place on Saturday, November 23, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
It celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Children’s Book Festival.
There will be face-painting, crafts and activities and Waterstones is providing a pop-up bookshop where any books purchased can be signed by the authors and illustrators at the event.
The Gala Day is a partnership between Northumberland County Council and North Tyneside Council. Northumberland county coun Val Tyler said it was a privilege to be hosting this year’s Gala Day in Northumberland.
Apart from all of the Gala Day activities, there will be an opportunity to take a look around Woodhorn Museum for free. There is a charge of £1 to park all day on the site.
