Top riders are set to battle it out at the Burgham International Horse Trials this weekend.

The prestigious event, which is the only one in the North East to have International status, takes place from tomorrow to Sunday. As well as the competition, there will also be a range of trade stands.

• Amble’s Harbour Village development will be having its full launch on Saturday from 10am to 4pm. There will be the chance to see the retail pods and seafood centre, among other things.

• Renowned North-East comic Brendan Healy will be providing the laughs at The Old Storehouse, Amble, today, from 7pm. Tickets are £10 and are available by calling 01665 710500.
