Alnwick Playhouse manager Jo Potts admits that the gamble to book crude comic Roy Chubby Brown has paid off.
The foul-mouthed funnyman’s upcoming appearance in the town has proved so popular that an extra show on April 12 has had to be added after the initial April 11 gig sold out.
Jo said: “When we discussed Roy coming, we didn’t know if Alnwick would have the audience for it.
“But the response has been great and the Saturday night sold out quickly and tickets for the second show are selling well.
“We are really happy because, from a Playhouse point of view, it means that we are attracting a different type of audience to the ones that, perhaps, we would normally have here.”
