Many people sing, play guitar and tell stories, but not many have supported Steve Martin, Robin Williams or played a guitar duet with Brian May of Queen.

Richard Digance has and he appears on Friday at 7.30pm.

• Hailing from the Isle of Skye, the Peatbog Faeries are the figurehead trailblazers of the Celtic dance music renaissance. They play on Thursday, July 31, at 8pm. Tickets £16.50.

• Inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mabatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral, Belle, which tells a love story as well as dealing with the abolition of slavery, screens at the Playhouse on Wednesday and Saturday, both 7.30pm. Tickets £7, £6.50 conc, child/student £5.50.
