An amateur dramatics group has made an appeal for a prop, to help with its upcoming production.

Alnwick Theatre Club is performing Brassed Off at the town’s Playhouse over four nights in May.

As part of the preparations, the group is appealing for a very large silver trophy, which it wants to borrow for the week of the show.

A club spokeswoman said: “It would be great if someone would be prepared to lend us a trophy. It will be taken care of and insured as necessary.”

Based on a true story and the 1996 film of the same name, Brassed Off is a comedy drama that celebrates the power of music and the capacity of the human spirit to inspire a community to triumph against all the odds.

The theatre club is performing the show at Alnwick Playhouse from Wednesday, May 20, to Saturday, May 23. All four productions start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10, conc £9, child/student £6 and are available by calling 01665 510785, visiting www.alnwickplayhouse.co.uk or from the box office.

If anyone can donate the trophy to the club, call 01669 622856.
