Readers can open up a new chapter on their knowledge of literature at a course in Rothbury.
The Workers’ Educational Association is running the course at the Jubilee Hall.
It encourages students to extend their knowledge and critical understanding of serious literature in a friendly and accessible way.
This term it is looking at a selection of texts by French authors which are translated into English, including Proudst, de Maupassant, Zola, Collette and Sagan, along with a play by Racine.
Students are asked to work alongside the tutor to jointly explore research texts and their authors and the influences on the authors.
The course runs from Friday, September 19, from 10am to noon for 11 weeks.
