With this year’s Alnmouth Arts Festival – the tenth – less than a month away, the Gazette has teamed up with the organisers to offer a top prize.
Hipsburn-based artist Katherine Renton’s painting of The Dune Walkway – Alnmouth won last October’s competition to find the poster image for the 2014 Festival.
Katherine, who works part-time as an art teacher at St Paul’s school in Alnwick, has a fine artistic pedigree, growing up in Amble as the daughter of Arthur Young and Eleanor Mary Tully.
She considers herself very lucky to live by the coast in north Northumberland, which is the inspiration for many of her paintings in her chosen media of watercolours and oils.
One of those pieces, The Dune Walkway – Alnmouth, wowed the judges in the poster competition last year, but one of our readers can win their very own framed, limited-edition print, which is valued at £110.
To be in with a chance of winning the limited-edition print, buy a copy of this week’s Gazette and turn to Page 42.
The Alnmouth Arts Festival takes place this year on Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22.
