It opens with a classical Indian dance solo, showing the richness of storytelling, technique and rhythm footwork.

This is followed by the male duet and audience favourite Decreasing Infinity, which is performed to live music by a tabla player and beatboxer, who improvise a thrilling soundtrack around a driving rhythmic structure.

The evening concludes with Play of Percentages, performed by a quartet of dancers mixing Indian and Western dance styles.

Balbir and his dancers will be working with two older women’s dance groups – Dance For Fun, based at Alnwick Playhouse, and Dancing Girls, from Alnmouth, who will perform a short piece as a curtain-raiser to the evening’s show.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8, available from Alnmouth and Lesbury Post Offices, or online at www.highlightsnorth.co.uk
