An Alnwick woman has won a limited-edition print of the colourful image which is being used on the posters and other material for this year’s Alnmouth Arts Festival, which takes place at the end of the month.
The print, which is one of only 50 and worth £120, has been donated by Jane Jackson who won the competition run by the organisers and the Gazette, who are the festival’s official media partners.
The Gazette received more than 50 entries for the competition, but the lucky one drawn out of the hat was Enid Turnbull, pictured on the left with Jane Jackson, right.
She said: “I saw a copy of Jane’s print in a shop in Alnmouth a couple of weeks ago and thought how beautiful it was.
“I never thought I would win a copy, so many thanks to Jane and the Northumberland Gazette.”
Originally from Whitley Bay, Jane now lives in Rock.
“Winning the 2013 Alnmouth Arts Festival poster competition finally gave me the courage and motivation to become a full-time artist,” she said.
