One of the biggest events on north Northumberland’s arts calendar is again offering artists the chance to showcase their talents by producing a picture for its poster.

The 12th Alnmouth Arts Festival will see painters and other creative artists from all over the North East displaying their works in venues across the village on Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19 next year.

And the festival committee has teamed up with the Northumberland Gazette as a media partner once more to run a competition for a poster image.

Next year’s festival will feature a greater variety of art in the park, with more activities, music and food on offer.

The competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over, using any medium. Multiple entries are allowed. In keeping with the ethos of the festival, the winning artist is likely to live between the Tyne and Tweed.

The winning image should have a portrait orientation, relate to Alnmouth and make an impact.

Entrants sending copies of their images must ensure they are true colour representations of their original artworks. The winning picture will be used on festival promotional material, in the media, on flyers, a trail guide and the festival website, as well as posters.

The winning artist’s name will be acknowledged on any printed material, and they will be invited to exhibit at the festival for free.

This is the fifth time the competition has been run in conjunction with the Gazette.

To enter the competition, download a copy of the application form from the Alnmouth Arts Festival website and send it to the Northumberland Gazette office. If you cannot access the internet, contact Michael Pearson on 01665 602234.
