Sicilian tradition was showcased in Alnwick when the Gergent Ensemble performed at Alnwick International Music Festival today.
The songs and music represent the movements of the farmer, the carter and the fisherman during their moments of fun, work and love.
Their colourful costumes filled the Market Place with colour to the delight of the music festival crowd.
Gergent will be appearing all week at the festival, except Tuesday. They are due on stage in the Market Place tomorrow at 2.50pm; Wednesday at 4pm; Thursday at 3.30pm; Friday at 2pm; and Saturday at 4.15pm.
They are also due to perform at the Alnwick Playhouse, alongside other groups, including Doinita from Romania, on Thursday at 7.30pm, tickets £9 for adults and £8 for concessions; and at the Festival Finale on Saturday at 7.30pm, tickets £10 adults and £8 concessions.
