The Doinita Folk Ensemble from Romania have participated in music festivals all round the globe and this week they are honouring Alnwick with appearances at the town’s annual International Music Festival.
They came to Alnwick by bus in a journey that took two days.
The dancers range in age from 9 to 25 years old and train at the House of Culture in Bucharest.
Doinita will be appearing all week at the festival, except Wednesday. They are due on stage in the Market Place tomorrow at 4pm; Tuesday at 11am; Thursday at 2.30pm; Friday at noon; and Saturday at 2.50pm.
They are also due to perform at the Alnwick Playhouse, alongside other groups, including Gergent from Sicily, on Thursday at 7.30pm; tickets are £9 for adults and £8 for concessions.
