Ann Cleeves, whose novels have been made into the productions of Vera and Shetland, officially opened the Wild exhibition at Alnwick Bailiffgate Museum last week.

Wild celebrates our native British wildlife in all its beauty and diversity and will run throughout the summer months with a host of events taking place to coincide with it.

Visitors to the museum will be able to learn about red foxes, red squirrels, stag beetles, salmon, barn owls, great crested newts and much, much more

Interactive displays and a mass of extra resources will engage, inspire and inform visitors of all ages. Children will be able to listen to wildlife stories, dress up as their favourite creatures and make their very own animal masks.

Working with a number of partners, including Northumberland National Park, Alnwick Wildlife Group and Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a series of more than 30 extra events will run throughout the summer, in the museum and out in the countryside and on the coast.
