Variety set to return twice more this year

The success of a returning village variety show in north Northumberland has encouraged its creator to come back to the area later in the year.

On Easter Saturday, magician and escapologist Chris Cross brought his Northumberland Village Varieties show to Warkworth for the second year in a row.

The show, which was a sell-out, also featured BBC Radio Newcastle’s Alfie Joey as compere, acts from The Moscow State Circus and Gerry Cottle’s Circus, Elvis tribute artist Mike Memphis, 14-year-old juggler Joe Tuppling and The Carl Cape Folk Band.

Due to the show’s success, Chris now plans to bring a Summertime Showtime to Rothbury and a Christmas Cabaret Show back to Warkworth for one night only this year.
