A new campaign has been launched by the National Trust in the North East aimed at man’s best friend.
With acres of unspoiled countryside, fields, forest and beautiful, quiet coastline, the Trust’s places and spaces have much to offer canine visitors.
Europe’s largest conservation charity welcomes more than 20 million people every year to its 300 historic properties and an estimated 100 million to the coast and countryside in its care.
However, with the launch of its walkies campaign it is hoping to see a large percentage of the country’s 10 million dogs enjoying the outdoors on its land with their responsible dog owners.
An innovative dog-cam forms part of the campaign which shows just how much fun a dog and its owner can have at Trust places.

“We’re a charity that works to preserve and protect historic places and spaces – for ever, for everyone, and that includes responsible dog owners”, said Joanna Royle, head of marketing and supporter development for the National Trust in Yorkshire.
The north Northumberland coast is highlighted as a good spot as well as the ‘prime paddling country’ at Lindisfarne Castle.
