Countdown to festival is on

Taking place from September 1 to 4 at Beal Farm, the weekend of music for over 18s only is shaping up to be a real showcase of arts, music, culture and nature.

The line-up boasts an eclectic range of music from the likes of Reef, British Sea Power, Cuban Brothers and Beardy Man.

From a Thursday night opening with music until 4am to workshops, high end food vendors, glamping, street performers, an evening bonfire, the BBC Introducing Stage, DJ, comedy and poetry marquees, there is something for everyone at the event, which promises to be even bigger and better than the previous.

Conleth Maenpaa, founder of the Lindisfarne Festival said: “With less than two weeks to go until Lindisfarne Festival 2016 gets under way, we are really excited with how plans are shaping up as it promises to be our biggest and best event yet. We are certainly putting in plenty of graft behind the scenes to make it something special.

“With a diverse range of music across different genres, quality entertainment and refreshments, there really is something for everyone and we encourage people to come along and join in the fun. There will certainly be no shortage of party vibes with our acts, including headliners Reef and British Sea Power, tearing up the stage.

“In an area of outstanding beauty on Beal Farm, overlooking Holy Island, the setting provides the perfect location to let your hair down and escape for the weekend – it really is a spectacular location.”

Jack Bessant, from Reef, added: “Reef are going to really enjoy the Lindisfarne Festival. I have visited this place before and it has such beautiful nature and interesting history. I can’t wait to be playing there with Reef and hopefully ride some waves on some of the Northumberland beaches.”
