Youngsters show promise in victory

Alnmouth & Lesbury U11s v Tynemouth

Alnmouth and Lesbury U11s entertained Tynemouth on Sunday.

In U11 games, teams start with 200 runs, bat in pairs for four overs each and lose six runs for every dismissal.

Batting first Alnmouth posted a very respectable 279 which included two dismissals. All pairs batted well and ran well between the wickets. The star performer was Thorsten Robinson with a great score of 31 putting on a last pair partnership of 36 with Joe Archbold.

Ewan Thorpe also made a handy 12, while James Stanley and Dan Osborne had a useful partnership of 17.

All the Alnmouth bowlers then bowled well and Tynemouth were dismissed eight times as they finished 50 runs short on 229.

William Brunger took three wickets. Dan Osbourne and Chris Case also took wickets and Josh Lowes didn’t concede a run in his two overs.

Overall a great team performance against a useful side.
