Whitewash helps to widen the gap at the top of the league

A Division

The gap at the top of the A Division widened as The Travellers recorded a 7-0 whitewash of The Alnwick Arms, helped on by Kev Fletcher’s 127 checkout.

Team Dinga got off to a poor start at The Alnwick Gate, losing the first three singles, which included a 180 from The Gate’s new signing G Browning.

The Dingas took the last of the singles and both of the pairs to level the score, where The Gate edged the win to take the match 4-3.

AWMC Bar travelled to Shilbottle to play The Club’s A team.

In a close match, they shared the points in both the singles and the pairs, with Alnwick Club’s Alan Mole having checkouts of 106 and 117.

Shilbottle Club took the team-game decider to win the match 4-3.

The John Bull visited The Oddfellows Arms to play The Oddies B who took the singles 3-1.

With a point each in the pairs The Oddies went on to win the teams and the match 5-2.

B Division

Lee Mason and Chris Morton got The Oddies A off to a good start winning the first two singles against Shilbottle Club B.

The Club’s N Simpson and Jock (The Legend) Mobray hit back by taking the next two singles.

Sharing the points in the pairs, The Oddies won the deciding point in the teams and the match 4-3.

AWMC C hosted The Market Tavern A team. The Club’s veterans took an early lead winning the singles 3-1.

The Market levelled the score, taking both pairs. The team-game decider was won by The Club.

Final score AWMC C 4-3 The Market Tavern.

Alnwick Golf Club took an early lead against The Fleece winning the first of the singles.

That proved to be their only point as The Fleece went on to win all remaining games taking the match 6-1.

The Farriers 1-6 Penny Black (no score-sheet).
