Lesbury Bowling Club
A triple from a small local club recently became county champions and represented both the county and Lesbury Bowling Club at the National Championships played at Royal Leamington Spa.
Although it was a very short stay, they certainly did themselves proud.
They were unfortunate enough to be drawn against a family triple from Cambridge and went down fighting with a score of 24-14. After the match, they were told that mother and one daughter are current England players and with a pedigree like that it won’t be long before the other daughter joins them.
Lesbury’s triple of Heather Sisterson, Pat Hindhaugh and Marion Colling (s) did extremely well and should be very proud of themselves said club president Shirley Crump.
