The second annual Olympic Torch Trophy was held on Friday at Shilbottle Club.

All four leagues were well represented.

The draw was a repeat of last year with Alnwick v Amble and Rothbury v Embleton.

With some fantastic darts, notably A Robson and S Orr of the Amble team hitting 180s and A Shanks making a 114 finish. Alnwick squeezed through with a 5-4 win.

In a very close match, Embleton took on last year’s winners Rothbury and proved too much for the holders, taking the match 6-3.

The final saw Embleton taking on Alnwick. I Donkin, for Embleton, took the first leg 2-1. The next six legs were taken by Alnwick with some outstanding darts played by all participants, K Fletcher’s 14-dart leg and M Davison’s 15-dart leg examples of the standard played. Alnwick took the cup 6-3.

The four leagues thanked Shilbottle Club for their hospitality and superb venue. Thanks to all those who played and the many supporters.
